Ja mikä soundi onkaan molemmissa Gibson Les Paul kitaroissa. 'Pyöreä, hedelmäisen täyteläinen ja kypsä' ;) - silti kirkas ja heavy. Jospa nimittäisin sitä heavy-mellow-soundiksi. Basso on hieman pimennossa.
John Fogerty and band members performs extended instrumental sections in the summer of 1970 C.C.R.-cover of Marvin Gaye hit "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" in Toronto.
Satunnainen kommentaattori kertaa paikkansapitävästi: Gladys Knight and the Pips, Marvin Gaye, CCR, and now John did it again great with the pianosound. Reminds me a bit of Marvin's version.

Tässä on yksi John Fogertyn sykähdyttävimmistä rock-balladeista. Kuunnelkaa sanoja.
Lodi
Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
*
Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
*
The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
*
Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for every song I've sung.
And every time I've had to play while people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

Pannaan tähän vielä bonus-live-biisi rokkiva:
Blue Suede Shoes (maailman arvokkaimmat kengät! - kts. sanat)
John Fogerty Burg Klam, 14th July 2007, Blue Suede Shoes.
Jälleen joku yleisöstä onnistuu videoimaan joskin hiukan huonommilla soundeilla kuin edellinen Grapevine.

(words & music by Carl Perkins)
Well, its one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, cat, go.
*
But dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
*
Well, you can knock me down,
Step in my face,
Slander my name
All over the place.
*
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
*
You can burn my house,
Steal my car,
Drink my liquor
From an old fruitjar.
*
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
