Jim Morrison 1966 Näiden kahden kuvan välillä ehti kulua vain viisi vuotta. Jumaloitu rock-idoli rappeutui viinalla ja huumeilla tuona aikana väsyneeksi ukoksi, joka oli valmis kuolemaan hotellinsa kylpyammeeseen Pariisissa jo 1971.
(Kyseessä oli luultavasti huumeiden ja alkoholin yhteisvaikutuksesta aiheutunut sydämenpysähdys. Ruumiinavausta ei tehty, koska Ranskan lakien mukaan siihen vaadiittiin rikosepäily, eikä tällasta todettu (!?))

Muista 27 vuotiaana kuolleista blues-rock taiteilijoista mainitakoon Robert "Crossroads" Johnson, 1938 , Brian Jones,1969 (Rollarit), Jimi Hendrix, 1970, Janis Joplin, 1970, Al Wilson, 1970, (Canned Heat) ja Kurt Cobain, 1994 (Nirvana).

"26 ja 28 vuotiaina vuotiana kuolleita löytyy muutamia. Syinä ovat olleet myös lentokone- ym. muut liikenneonnettomuudet.
Jazz-sähkökitaran suuriimpiin uudistajiin kuuluva Charlie Christian sen sijaan kuoli tulerkuloosiin 26-vuotiaanana (1942).
